Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014!

Let's rundown the 10 Most Memorable Moments of 2013!

1. We started off the year with a road trip to Chi-town.  Celebrating JK's 29th was quite the adventure.  We absolutely love exploring new cities, and fell in love with the windy city, even if it was 10 degrees!

2. Even though I had a rough start to 2013 in the career department (I was laid off), I got back on my feet, and got a new job closer to home.

3. My Nashville girls and I attended our first Junior League Gala!  We started with a little pre-party at the downtown condo and headed to War Memorial Auditorium to dance the night away.  My first grown-up formal was just as much fun as the ones in college :)

4. Moving from downtown into a house was a big transition.  It has been fun settling in and getting everything set in place, but I do still miss the vibe of downtown life.  Onward and upward!

5.  With the house came a new addition of an adopted puppy, Tally, to our family.  We met at the Tomato Arts Festival, and the rest is history!  She is such a sweet pup.

6. Our best meal of the year was at Kayne Prime.  Hands down best meal ever. (P.S. If you are asking yourself, is that cotton candy on bacon, the answer is YES!)

7. This year I dusted off my volunteering shoes and joined the Renewal House family here in Nashville.  Mostly I help out with childcare and activities for the children, and it has been such a rewarding humbling experience.

8.  Celebrating Sarah! From the news of her engagement, to the bachelorette party, to the wedding, it was an absolute joy sharing the journey from Miss. to Mrs., with Mrs. Murphy.  Any excuse to get together with all of my favorite Memphis girls is a-ok in my book!

9.  Did ya'll see me on Nashville?!? (Probably not, but it was fun to peak behind the cameras for a day :))

10.  To sum up the rest, I made a lot of fun, new memories with JK.  From winning the annual egg toss, to welcoming all of our new babies, 2013 was one for the record books!

Every year seems to get better and better, I can't wait to see what 2014 holds!

5 for Friday

1.  It's nice to get back in the swing of blogging.  My work/life balance has been a little off lately, and I'm enjoying getting things back to normal.

2. For JK's big 3-0, we are headed to Las Vegas!  Any must sees, dos, or eats?  I would love your recommendations.

3. Christmas with the fam was perfect!  My sister and I were spoiled as usual, and we loved every minute of it.  Thanks mom and dad for the Roomba!

4. Christmas morning, my mom and I had fun digging through old photo albums to find photos of past Christmases.  I couldn't help but post a few on instagram to embarass my sister.  Here are a few oldies but goodies.

5. Countdown to NYE is on!  We are headed to Memphis to welcome 2014 with the besties.  Can.not.wait.

You Get A Dog! You Get A Dog! You Get A Dog! (Oprah Voice)

So I may have gone a little puppy overboard this Christmas.  Not only did JK gain 2 new babies, my brother-in-law was gifted a baby boy as well!  Tis' the season to share the love.  We are officially those people...you know....dog people :) Meet baby Linus.

Linus got his name to pair with his sister, Peaynut.
Peaynut - Peanuts - Charlie Brown - Linus
(I had to spell it out in case any of you are moving as slow as I am this morning)

Let's Catch Up! - Sarah Got Married :)

Christmas Home Tour

Here is a peak into the first Christmas in our  Nashville home.  I think she's beautiful for the holidays, if I do say so myself.

I always wanted a real Christmas tree, and the front porch was the perfect place to try one out.

Sweet Baby Tucker

Tucker was JK's first love, his baby and the sweetest member of our family.  Tucker met JK over 11 years ago, and they have been best buds ever since. Tucker joined JK at college, followed him to law school, and even helped him open the firm.
Some may call him stubborn, but we knew he was just strong-willed.
Some say dogs shouldn't eat chocolate, but Tuck had his fair share.
Some called him spoiled, but we called him loved.
Some say don't wake a sleeping dog, well they were right :)
Some teach their dogs to respect their master, ole Tucker didn't see it that way.
In November, Tucker passed on from this world, but his spirit and memories live on :)
JK had some words of wisdom to share in this time of grief for our little family.  The pain of Tucker's passing cannot compare to the joy, happiness, laughter, and love he brought to our lives.
We love you, we miss you, and you will always be the original baby,
