Tour Guide Tuesday: Belcourt Theatre

The Belcourt Theatre

Sitting just a block off West End, I love this theater because they play everything from Mean Girls and The Sound of Music this weekend, to exposing the Nashville community to great documentaries featured at the Sundance Film Festival. They feature classic hits like Gigi and You Can't Take It With You (starring Jimmy Stewart from It's a Wonderful Life) this month as well.

**One favorite tradition of Nashvillians is heading to the Belcourt during the Christmas season to see It's a Wonderful Life.

From the Belcourt website:

The Belcourt Theatre is a unique Nashville treasure with a vibrant historic past and deep roots in the community. Today, the Belcourt is a nonprofit cultural institution dedicated to presenting the best of independent, documentary, world, repertory and classic cinema. The Belcourt provides opportunities for people of all ages to discover, explore and learn through the power of film. We cultivate and build on the powerful sense of shared experience that audiences can achieve — taking advantage of our building’s physical character and location in the heart of a lively Nashville neighborhood. At the same time, we work with community partners throughout Nashville to bring inspiring films to children and young people.

The Belcourt is open 7 days a week and is bound to have something to spark the interest of everyone in your party.
